I am on mine now. Like this one a lot better than the one that went sour on me a few months ago. Stayed with Gateway for some unknown reason. Next time I might try a Dell, maybe. It has Windows Media Center and I am still clueless as to what it does. Do have a free Vista upgrade though. 140/60gig HD, 2gig RAM, dual core AMD processor and a ATI Radeaon Xpress Graphics card. Widescreen, love it so far. Added some Altec Lansing laptop speakers for the complete blow me away experience when travellin'.

well, I have a desktop pc...I wish I'd have a laptop, which would be very useful to me in university, but I just can't afford the ones I like...and buying a cheap one is not good, cuz it'll be outdated in the next six months or less...so, that sucks for me...

I have a new toy for the lappy. I have a 80 gig lil weeny pocket drive. It's so tiny and so cute with a carrying case with a handle. So I just cleaned off gigs of music to it and backed up my lappy too. YESSSSSS!! Now, I need to save for a bout 6 more months to get the one for the PC. It's 160 gigaroos.

Sad to report that the lappy isn't so happy. It has to go to the shop for repairs as the last thing that happened was... Prentis tried to email his fur friends online, then spilled some juice on the key board and then I don't know what else. Prior to that some internal things were acting a wee strange along with the keyboard.

I've got a HP Pavillion dv6000, AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile 1.6 Ghz Processor, 1024 Mb ram. 120 Gb Hard Disk Drive, NVIDIA GeForce Go 7200 256Mb.
Integraded 7.1 Sound Card. 15.4" Widescreen. Bluetooth, 5in1 cards reader, LightScribe DVDRW, Windows XP Media Center Edition. + A remote control.

Bought it on March 11~, 2007. Already barelly working... Battery lasts for 1-2 hours... Already took it for repairs, the whole system is messed up.

Bluetooth and LightScribe are not on mine so your lappy sounds quite nice despite you keep breaking things up PL. DO you like WMC? It is kinda quirky for me but I am getting used to it. I loved the fact that a friend gave me over 15 gigs of music and all kinds of info showed up for each song. We are talking tunes from the late 70's to 80's that I never knew the info for back then. (LAUGHS)

I'm glad to know someone else who has it, younger than myself that is. I got this lappy as a result of my last one dying before it's time. I liked that one, I love ythis one becuase I got double the speed plus HD and some more stuff for really, really cheap. Heeeeheeeeeheeeeeee!! PLus a new warranty too boot. (grins)

Don't really use the WMC program (You know what i mean) i prefer to listen to music on Winamp and watch movies on Windows Media Player 10 or WinDVD. Use Microsoft Internet Explorer... Don't really like all those Mozzila's or firefox things... Mostly because chats in where i sit support only I-Explorer.

But i wouldn't change it to Vista, mostly because that to have a fully normally working Vista without lags you need 2048Mb or ram (2 GB)
I don't really destroy my laptop, i just use it alot (Like 10-16 hours a day, all week)

PL - there's only 24 hours in one day last time I checked. Yu don't live in a room, you LIVE on your lappy it seems. Dammmmmmmmmmn. Anyhow, I don't use WMC either, it just was nice for THAT feature, if you know what I mean. (laughs) Love Firefox over IE any day. Sorry. I miss a couple features in IE but I love how I have customized, I mean Pimp-ified Firefox more. I have the ram and the space but I am still using dinosaur programs from 98 and before believe. Sooooooooooo.... I stick with it MCE on the lappy, at least, till I have no choice.

And now I leave to just BAWL because it is in route to repairDOM. WAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Nahh... There are times when i go out... Mostly i do it on fridays or weekends... And i stay so much on my laptop only on summer, when there's no school, usually stay on it for about 6-7 hours on afternoon sometimes a hour before school... Yeah it might be a nice feature, but i never checked it...
Actually i don't live in a room for now... Renovating it... Have a sleeping bag and sleep in a kitchen )))

Ok PL. Sleeping in the kitchen means you're closer to the food, I'd say. SMILES!! How long do you have to camp out by the fridge/oven/trash compactor?? :p

Talk about LightScribe and Bluetooth. What have you been able to access or do with each? It's a new area for me lappy wise. Are you on a cable or DSL connection? Wireless?

Well.

Well haven't tried any of those, because have no other Bluetooth device or LightScribe CD...

Well, you know what bluetooth does so i'll tell a little about LightScribe. With it you can make a print on CD, like write a name on it and so on, it uses the same laser for burning CD's/Dvd's and for printing an image on the CD/DVD which is coated with special layer which reacts to the laser or something....

Will need to buy a LightScribe CD, they are really look, you can make a CD look like it would be an original ))))

I've got a wireless connection throught a router which is connected to a desktop on another room...

Fun park... Hmm... Wish that there would be something like that here... Carnivals and and so on... Don't really have anything... My town is 3rd by size in the country, and it has only 2-3 skyscrapers (or how they spell) and even then, only one of them is a real skyscraper...

I went to Hershey Park (http://www.hersheypa.com/attractions/hersheypark/index.php) PL. Was hot but fun then later in the long day after NOT wanting to get on water rides, it rained like heck on us. I didn't get drenched as we waited it out by getting carictures done. Mine is soo cute as I had him draw me on my lappy. HAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!

Ok PL, this weekend hopefully with the other stuff I need to scan in HERE!! :) And it's caricAture... sorry for the typo. Back to the not-so-happy-lappy... the optical drive, keyboard and possibly the motherboard need to be replaced and goodness know what else when all said and done. All thanks and no thanks to one cute furry child walking by and spilling about 2 tablespoons or so on the keyboard. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

One of the forums I visit, the MOD there made me a welcome graphic, so that's on my one desktop. I don't have a monitor hooked up to the second desktop so I forger what's on it and my lappy had X from one of the concerts. I not know what it have when it come back. :p
