I think French is very, very sexy. I would like to learn that language as well as more Spanish. I know a weeeeee bit. Other than those two, nothing else picks my curiosity.
I do know how to comprehend (to some degree), read (very well), partly speak, and write patois. Pronounced pahtwah or pawtwah - this is a Carribean dialect.

hey Di...where is patois spoken? like Haiti or something in the caribbean? pah-twah...pah-twah...pah-twah...sounds kinda cool :P and what can you say in spanish?? like mi nombre es...or hola and adios? the easy things?? :P

haha those languages are really hard...lots and lots of letters to remember and know how to do them...so, definitely not easy languages...you didn't get my sarcasm :P but why don't you learn spanish or a language you might like? you just gotta have determination...

Roshan - lazy azzzzzz!! (laughs very hard). Just what the hecks aren't you lazy about? What happened to your Hip/Hop n R&B posts?? Got lazy, eh? (rolls eyes laughing)
Daniel - Jamaica mostly because the dialect changes a bit when you get to Trinidad, Haiti and other Carribean places. Each country could understand one another to a degree but each one uses different words as well as some same.
'Likkle more' means see you again, uhmmmmm... 'mek dem no' means to make someone understand. 'Wah Gwaan' (what's going on) is like greeting someone', 'Irie' is cool, 'Mudda', 'Fadda', 'Sistren', 'Bredren' - the family. 'Pickney' is kids, It kinda is a broken English but they do have distinct words that are not in the English dictionary. www.jamaicans.com, read their message board, It will have you cross eyed.
In Spanish (did I say I could type it - heeeeheeeeheeee) here goes.... mi casa es su casa - my house is your house, mi llamo es Diana - My name is...., mundo or is that mondo is world (uhh ohhh), numeros - unos, dos (sp?? for two), tres, quatro, cinqo, sies (sp? for 6), siete, ocho, nueve, diaz.
And one for laughs - Yo quero Taco Bell. AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAAAA!!
Well the end and that hurt. I know a weeeee bit more but trust me, I think that reads bad enough right there, don't you? (spits juice laughing)

Hey, I took Spanish 101 twice I was so bad off. Over here where I am right now, lotta ricans, lotta hispanics. I hear it everyday.
I am not sure if other Caribbean countries call their dialect 'patois' or not but I do know I could speak some to a Trini and he understood what I said.
Oh, did you see the pics I sent you on SHAGGY being in your country? You like?

I feel ya on the sleeping bit. (yawn... stretches)
Anyhow, to keep more off topic... that's another nick of mine as well. Lady Dee, Lady Di, Lady DeeDee, Lady DiDi, D, Dee, Di... and some more we won't mention. I had for years personalized tags on my carzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Yeah, I had a few b/c I got bored. DEE was one part of the tag name. Might get'em again one day who knows. Ya rent your car's perosnalized tags here for $120+ per 3 yrs I think it is.
I have owned a Subaru Legacy 2 x's, Mitsu Eclipse, GTO, Pontiac T1000, Mitsu Tredia, and an Acura TL. My Dad used to get us used/new cars when the one we were driving fell apart (for some unknown mysterious reasons?!?!? laughs). When I got 19, I was trading new cars in faster than dealers could blink. Almost every two yrs up till 2000/1. That was the Ack (TL) and I really wanted to keep that one. :(

Daniel - yeah I hear/read that our native tongue is easy too. I think it is acronyms and synonyms that mess people up ,,ost. There/Their, Hear/Here... you get the point.
LR2 - in your country what do you speak? How easy was it to learn those languages that you know? I agree, Swahili sounds like it would be fun to take on.
Lady,in our country I speak finish and lil' bit same language.
It's easy to learn those other languages if I do my homework..hahahaha LOL.
English was easy to me..and swedish as well,(or maybe swedish was easier in the beginning..ehh :o ).
But Swahili was my original language..so I really want to learn that..
Lady Di
12-08-2006, 02:02 PM
Ohhhh I see LR2. Where you born in a country where Swahili is spoken, if not too personal? If so, where actually? So you know Swedish as well? Are Finish (as in Finland residents, yes) and Swedish (as in Sweden residents, yes?) similiar? You have one more educational notch above me. I've always been told that if you can learn at least one more language than your own, your portfolio looks a wee bit better.

Yes Lady,I was born in Africa,Kenya..and Sweden is my neighbourhood country.Yes, finish are as in Finland residents and swedish are as Sweden residents.Hahaha, but you can catch me eventhough my portfolio looks a lil' bit better, you should just study different kind of languages if you can...
If you start now,you are gettin better and better year by year ya know??And swedish is required language in finish schools,so..can't help it anyway, like it or not.
Lady Di
12-09-2006, 11:03 AM
Oooooooh, but is Finish required as well? So you have to have two languages no matter? Very good, I say. I thought Sweden and Finland were near each other, my brain's geography map was a bit tilted. :p You seem to understand English very good. EXCELLENT!!
Kenya - lemme see.... I think SHAGGY was there too. I think I have photos from there as well. If I recall tight I have a contact there who just put my site on the African map when SHAGGY visited. It was awesome to travel that far without leaving home. And one of our travel channels did a Kenya visit... man it was breathtaking. I think the Prime Minister owns a heard of sheep?? Or close animal?!?! And he went into the wild with huge lions that scared me to death - this was TV OK? Laughs.
I hope I have the right Kenyan info as I am starving. We shall chat on this more later. Take care.
BTW - we shall see on that learning of another language. :D

Da Mastermind - Are your "mother langs" hard to learn? Are you from African originally - as in birth place, if not too much to ask. Turkish and Arabic too, woah! Arabic seems really difficult. I can read Spanish and speak it as I read it very well. But actually knowing what I am saying... some words, yes... some no.

AAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAA Ro$$hi. For me it is all in a mtter of wanting to communicate. I can not stand being around say a group of people who speak their tongue and I not know what is being said. SHAGGY's people talk faster b/c they know I try to listen, laughs!! They know I can't understand them when they speed the tongue up. Grrrr.......
LR2 - you are doing exceptionally well with English to me. Keep up the most excellent learning of it. I have two Spanish dictionaries on my shelf that have so much dust on them... well, you can't see the titles. (no laugh nor lie)
